With so many of my friends receiving new technology this Christmas, I wanted to take a minute to remind everyone how important it is to be careful what you click on the Internet. If you see a message pop-up in Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Edge, FireFox etc. warning you that you have a Virus/Malware/Spyware etc. while browsing the internet DO NOT CLICK IT, clicking that message WILL infect your computer, either directly via a Software Exploit, via software installation (Fake Antivirus) or by prompting you to call "Tech Support".
This warning also applies to Phone Calls claiming to be Microsoft, Dell or another big name company. These companies WILL NEVER cold call you to tell you that your computer is infected.
For the best protection from these viruses, be careful what you click on, and install a reputible anti-virus solution. Windows 10 comes with Windows Defender by default! If you have installed any software or apps after clicking one of these warning messages contact a computer professional, whether your family tech person, GeekSquad, or a local computer repair shop to make sure you are protected.
